HISTORY

Our parent organization, ANNANDALE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY FOR ACTION (ACCA) — an alliance of 27 churches — was founded in 1967 to meet the early care needs of children from working, low-income families. Its initial focus grew to include transportation for medical appointments, family emergency assistance, Meals on Wheels, furniture, housing repair, scholarships, and a food pantry. ACCA services are made possible by 190 organizational partners, more than 500 volunteers, and close to 600 individual donors.

In the early 1980s, after the closing of Annandale Elementary School, Fairfax County leased part of the facilities to ACCA and built an Infant/Toddler facility and a food pantry on the site. Today, ACCA Child Development Center is a full-day, year-round, and comprehensive program, which provides high-quality early education licensed for 290 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. After five decades of uninterrupted service, our program has become one of Northern Virginia's top early child development providers.

ORGANIZATIONAL VISION & VALUES

We strive to be a transformative force in early childhood education, creating inclusive environments where children and educators can reach their full potential. Through strong partnerships with families and communities, we aim to foster children's cognitive and emotional growth while helping them develop the resilience and skills necessary for success. Together, we seek to shape future generations of empathetic thinkers, innovators, and leaders—one child at a time.

We endeavor to achieve excellence, believing that every individual can positively influence our program. Consequently, we foster a culture of professionalism, innovation, respect, communication, teamwork, and integrity.
